Food security, climate, energy, and immigration will be discussed.
The White House announced this week, and Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard has confirmed, that President Joe Biden will be hosting Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador this month at the White House. The agenda for the meeting has been decided and mutually approved by Ebrard, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and the White House. This will be the first time the two leaders meet since President Obrador opted out of the Summit of the Americas in June.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated, “The leaders will discuss their efforts to address global challenges, such as food security, and discuss joint competitiveness initiatives, such as work being undertaken in the U.S.-Mexico High-Level Economic Dialogue. They also plan to discuss their visions for North America, cooperation on migration, joint development efforts in Central America, security, climate and energy, and global issues.”
